Pine, original dark bittersweet red painted finish, horizontal rectangular board supported by end boards with arched feet, with four angled supports dovetailed into top and sides, card attached underneath “Purchased 1972 Shaker Auction Curtiss Hotel, Lenox, Mass.”, and a tag in Ed Clerk’s handwriting “Shaker Bench in the original red finish dating to about 1840, purchased in Pittsfield, Mass.”, 16″ h, 42″ l, 10″ d, (Ed Clerk collection).
