Pine, natural finish, large six board style chest, dovetailed, with two hinged lids, both beveled with cleats attached with handmade screws, partitioned interior with left side for kindling and right side for logs, handwritten paper taped to inside kindling lid, 20 1/2″ h, 39 5/8″ w, 25 1/4″ d, (Bissland collection).

This was placed under an upstairs window in the Bissland home, and was “Moses”, the Shaker cat’s favorite sunny resting place.
