Cherry and maple, original light varnish finish, large acorn finials, four slats, flat curviliner shaped arms, blue with red and light green striped tape seat, carved cherry rockers inset into stiles and attached with screws, New Lebanon, NY, c. 1860-1870, from a Pennsylvania collection, 15″ seat h, 44 1/2″ overall h.
Note:
Slight steam bent curve to the back, and “6” is stamped twice on back of top slat. This is a rare transitional pre-production chair.
