Pine, original chrome yellow painted finish with light varnish, original light blue painted interior, heavy wire bail with fitted and turned bail handle in birch with original red stain, clipped diamond bail plates (to accommodate the lid) fastened with copper rivets, in original black paint, stamped “26” on bottom and under lid, dated in pencil on bottom “Sept 1850”, two securing iron hoops with two rivets and clipped “V” shaped ends, Canterbury or Enfield, NH, 6″ h, 10 1/4″ h (to top of handle), 8″ dia, (Ed Clerk collection).
