Lot 161: Rare Utensil Carrier

Cherry and pine, original red stained finish, rectangular handle slightly canted and fitted to sides, finely dovetailed box fitted with five partitioned sections, slightly extended pine base attached with symmetrically placed brass screws, interior shows water stains, c. 1830-1840, (probably used for bringing flatware to community dining room), 18 3/4″ x 15″, 7 1/2″ h (to top of handle).
