Oak and brass, original varnish finish, gray/white painted brass secured to a half-round oak candle holder with triangular oak support, three counter sink screw holes at the top, with attached tag in Ed Clerk's handwriting “Shaker Wooden Candle Sconce” dating to the mid-19th century, Mt. Lebanon, NY…purchased from Celeste Koster, Old Chatham, N.Y. and 1980″, and also a label on back “Shaker wall sconce and candle holder from the North Family, Mt. Lebanon, NY (ex Bissell [sic Bissland] collection)”, 19″ h, 4 1/2″ w, (ex. Bissland; ex. Koster; ex. Ed Clerk collection).
