Maple and pine, original orange/red stained finish, interior storage shelf below top tread in front, interior storage shelf in the rear of the step, single board sides with slightly raised arch foot, chamfered braces on both sides, symmetrically attached with brass screws,
signed in pencil on bottom “Infirmary”, labeled on bottom in Ed Clerk’s handwriting “Shaker Step Stool from the Mt. Lebanon N.Y. Infirmary, purchased from Celeste Koster, Old Chatham, N.Y.”, 20” h, 15 1/2” w, 15” d, (Celeste Koster collection; Ed Clerk collection).
