Pine, original cranberry red stained finish, carved from one piece of wood with cut out handle, riveted at top for extra support, and forged sheet iron 9″ wrap above paddle with four rivets, shaped paddle head with wear at base, possibly later used as a snow shovel, signed in black paint on handle “Upper HS (House), 1866, West Door”, yellow tag “Mixing Paddle, NF New Lebanon”, (James Bissland collection).
