Maple and pine, original ochre stained varnish finish, three fingers, copper tacks, signed in ink on bottom “Wm H. Perkins, and Lillian Barlow, Mt. Lebanon Shakers, New York”, c. 1830, (note: possibly a gift to the Belfits from Brother Perkins and Sister Lillian, the last of the Shaker chair makers at Mt. Lebanon in the 1920’s and 30’s), excellent patina, 3 1/2″ l, (Hazel and Robert Belfit collection).
