Lot 173: Eight Coin Silver Spoons

Made by S.D. (Douglas) Brower & Son, c. 1830-1850, hallmarked, each individually numbered on the back at the top “4, 8, 21, 22, 25, 26, 28 and 29”, and engraved on the front “C H” for Church House, used at Hancock, MA, listing on p. 34 “S. Douglas Brower, silversmith, Troy and Albany, N,.Y….”, (Hazel and Robert Belfit collection).

Note: These are the only silver spoons that we have ever sold that were used by the Shakers.
