Pine, original chrome yellow stain blended into the wood, three narrow tall treads, each with a through mortise support underneath, through mortised backboard support, arched bootjack ends, shaped side braces, each with nine inset screws, (note: these “three stepper” stools were used to make the contents of tall chests and cupboards more accessible to the Sisters), Canterbury, NH, c. 1830-1840, 25 1/2″ h, 16 1/2″ w, 12 1/2″ d.
