Lot 141: Sister’s Double Tiered Spool Holder

Maple, original varnish finish, top round tier has a central green velvet pincushion 1 1/2″ dia, threaded into the finely turned shaft, central 3 1/2″ diameter tier with six steel pins, each holding finely turned matching spools in original red, over a turned 4″ dia base with six matched heavier spools in original red, all on three small turned feet, small split on second tier, otherwise excellent condition, (note: an exceptional Shaker made spool holder used in the community), c. 1850, 5″ h.
