Tin, finely turned wood handle, in the shape of a turned chair finial, shaped brass rectangular bar fixed to a brass shaft through the round lid, and attached with a small brass bar to a curvilinear hard bristle brush (7″ l), removable central cylinder section with very fine woven brass sieve over a flared 5″ dia bottom basin, very good condition, possibly Canterbury, NH, c. 1850-1860, (note: an exceptional example of Shaker tin devices), 14″ h (to top of handle), 8″ dia (at lid).
