Black ash splint basket, very finely cut, lidded with basketry ring lift, sweetgrass rims, single wrap weave, 3″ h, 5″ dia; Two scallop shell pincushions, (2″ and 1 1/2″), Shaker Sister’s fancywork sold in Shaker stores, shells gathered by the Shakers in NH and ME, one has remnants of original blue silk bow, stuffed with cotton, plaid covering, (note: see Inspired Innovations, page 145, by M. Stephen Miller).
