Lot 50A: Chest of Drawers

Pine, original red stained finish, dovetailed drawers with original hardwood pulls, (note: interesting feature – top slides onto case on dovetails), locks intact (except top drawer), Watervliet, NY, c. 1840, 40 7/8″ h, 41 3/4″ w, 21 3/4″ d (at top). [Provenance: John Keith Russell 1984, sold at auction from a Shaker collection in upstate New York 2015. A recent gift to Hancock Shaker Village with the intent that it be sold to support the operations of this historic Shaker site and museum.]
