Intricately carved midnight red hardstone and minerals lacquered over, showing scenes of elders and scholars crossing a bridge, and playing a board game, within a dense foliage background, and on the reverse carved Kaishu script describing the scene, slides into a hand-carved base, 20 1/4″ h, 13 1/2″ w (stand), 15 1/2″ h, 11 3/8″ w (screen).
