Pennsylvania plank seat side chairs, maple and poplar, with freehand decoration in yellow, green and cream, pears, leaves, flowers and buds, sides of crests are decorated with beige swag curtains outlined in heavy black, half spindle back supports decorated in green and black with yellow medial swollen turnings, carved and turned front stretchers with similar black twig decoration, carved plank seats, normal wear, 17″ seat h, 31 1/2″ overall h; along with a pair of similar plank seat 19th c. Pennsylvania side chairs, with decorated crests in stenciled flowers and leaves, in yellow, green and maroon on a brown background, decorated front legs, (wear to one crest), 17″ seat h, 33″ overall h.
