Colorful folk art watercolor on paper of Chester Academy, founded in Chester, VT in 1814, signed and dated “C.E. Se (illegible) Sept. 1838″, paintings akin to this were performed by students of the Academy at the time, minor foxing and staining mostly outside the image area, in the original old grain painted pine frame, with brass hoop on reverse for hanging, 8″ x 10 1/4” (sight), (ex. Dr. Oscar and Lois Hollander collection, Falmouth, MA).
