American, working model train of a coal fired steam engine and Tender, built by George Denney, Crafton, PA, c. 1920’s, exceptional detailed model in brass, steel, glass, sheet metal, and other materials on 5 3/4″ rails (measured inside), all on a wooden trestle platform, 5′ 2″ l, 31 1/2″ h, the engine is dated “1901” in gilt below the windows, the Tender is also dated “1901” and with “cap. 3600.GAL”, and also lettered on the sides “P. & L.E.R.R. Buffalo Limited” (Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Rail Road), condition is good with minor rust spots, engine measures 39 1/2″ l, 15″ h, 11″ w, Tender measures 23 1/2″ l, 11″ w, (from the estate of John Chesley, Jr. of Marshfield, MA, architect and engineer, found in Pittsburgh, PA).
