Description
Drum with a brass tack decorated shell, this rope tension drum has wear and some damage, skins have been removed, and reverse printing on glass of an “eagle with shield, stars” replaces the top skin, paper label inside of the drum reads “E…Brown & Son, Drum Manufacturers,…Bloomfield, Conn 1843 No. 2299″, (note: the Brown family of Wiltonville and Bloomfield, Connecticut are reputed to have produced all the drums for Washington’s Continental Army – ending their family’s production making drums used in the Civil War), 16″ h, 17 1/2” dia.
