Description
Oil on canvas of a battle at sea, signed l.l. “C.L. Bowman”, cannons are blazing from the American ship on the left, and have broken the mast of the British ship on the right, (possibly War of 1812), c. 1870, shows old minor repairs on back of canvas, and old craquelure, original carved and gilded frame, recently found in a Nantucket estate, 22″ x 30″ (sight).
