Maple and birch, remnants of early red stain, (appears to have had a white painted finish removed), round top with unusual concentric circular scribe lines, slightly raised carved lip possibly so pins and needles stay on top, shaped cleat fastened with four handmade screws, Shaker turned shaft threaded into cleat, slight scribe line swell at midpoint, tin plated bottom with rosehead nails, early repair (Shaker?) at juncture of one leg, c. 1810-1820, remnants of a “WHA” tag underneath, 24 1/2″ h, 16″ dia top.
