Cherry, dark walnut stained varnish finish, very early Shaker woven splint seat with patina, four graduated slats pinned at back of top ladder, slightly curved flat arms terminating in a 3″ dia cap, turned and tapered arm supports with bold collar, wood pegged into the tenoned flat arms, shaped rockers attached to stiles with handmade screws, Watervliet, NY, c. 1830-1840, 15 1/2″ seat h, 45 3/8″ overall h.
