Oval box, maple and pine, early bright lipstick red painted finish over a dark stain, four fingers, copper nails and tacks, 3 3/4″ h, 9 1/8″ l; Two round lidded boxes, copper nails and wooden pegs, both with wire bails and small turned birch handles, raised diamond shaped bail plates, original brown stained varnish finish, and original dark turquoise blue painted finish with patina, 2 7/8″ h, 5″ h (to top of handle), 4 1/2″ dia; all three boxes show an unusual and similar technique of finishing construction of the maple side laps on the interior, from a Massachusetts collection.
