IMPORTANT SHAKER DISCOVERY
Both sewing desks were built at Mt. Lebanon by Brother Orren Haskins (1815-1892). The desk on the left was made for Sister Cornelia French (1840-1917) on May 17, 1874 and currently resides in the Shaker Museum at Hancock Shaker Village, Pittsfield, MA. The desk on the right was made for Sister Adoline Cantral on May 12, 1874 and will be featured in our upcoming Shaker auction of Summer 2019.
Also featuring an important collection from the Wilson Estate, formerly of Lee, MA
Fancy pail from Mount Lebanon, NY
Served as a gift. Made between the fire disaster of 1875 and 1880
