Boston bow backs, c. 1790-1810, pine seats, hickory bowed stretcher, oak crest rail, original maple legs, yellow with black highlights, eight bamboo spindles with median swells, molded and shaped hoop, bamboo shaped legs with rare bowed stretcher, and lollipop shaped cross braces, small whipped twine repair to two spindles on one chair, overall very tight and in very good condition, (see p. 137 Windsor Style in America, Vol. II, Charles Santore, 1987), 18″ seat h, 39 1/2″ overall h, (ex. Channing Howe estate, Duxbury, MA).
