Lot 30: Tripod Stand

Cherry, original varnish finish, round top slightly beveled, rectangular chamfered cleat, inset screws appear to be unmoved, a smaller oak cleat added by the Shakers to give extra height is attached with screws to the rectangular cleat, it is pegged into the top of the shaft, which is finely turned and terminating in three exceptionally shaped snake legs, with the original cast steel plate secured with original screws, very fine condition, 24 1/4″ h, 14 5/8″ dia., (ex. Wadleigh/Wombolt collection).

Note:
This is a classic Shaker tripod stand in the original finish. The second small Shaker cleat adds an inch to the overall height.
