Maple, two-slat graduated back, original red stained finish, finely turned finial, early flat woven caned seat, (some wear breaks on left side), tall posts terminating in cast iron and hardwood wheels allowing forward and backward movement, tagged with Ed Clerk’s handwriting “Shaker Weaver’s Chair from Watervliet or New Lebanon, N.Y., c. 1830, original red stain”, front stretcher shows in-use wear, 23” seat h, 36” overall h, (Ed Clerk collection).
