Isaac Sprague's 19th c. work box, dome top, poplar and pine, with original red/brown painted finish, small ring pull on top, lock escutcheon is covered over with early leather, small hinged lid compartment inside lid, bent tin "L" shaped holders for pen or brush inside back, filled with two 19th c. "Eagle" brand paper boxes for "Artist leads", dated 1879; a leather covered eyeglass case, 3" l, with original steel framed eyeglasses with green tint and hinged side glass, marked "Peters, Phild"; a small tin rectangular jar with corked top; an oval-shaped brass tubular case, possibly used to hold pens, marked "JJK" on top; and a small round wood box with lid, marked "IS" on top and on bottom, and stamped "CH" on the bottom as well, copper tacks and wooden peg construction, 2 1/2" dia on bottom, inside with a yellow cake of chalk or watercolor substance; along with two French paper covered pencil cases, A.W. Faber, London, New York and Paris, (smaller box holds five original pencils); all "Acquired from Priscilla Sprague in 1969, and belonged to Isaac Sprague, and may have been carried with him on his Western Trip with J.J.A." (John James Audubon), John P. Richardson, Old Fort House, Hingham, Mass.; Note: a rare chance to acquire Isaac Sprague's paint box and a small pantry box initialed by Isaac Sprague and Cotton Hersey of Hingham; (JPR collection).

Pair of 18th c. braceback continuous arm Windsor chairs, fully developed with exceptional turnings, old refinish, very good condition.

Late 19th c. Victorian bird cage in the form of a mansion, carved wood and wire in original blue, cream and red (faux brick), with cone topped turrets on right and left side front, a peaked gable, sides and front with doors and windows, some minor imperfections and old tin repairs, along with nine carved wood and painted songbirds, 30" h, 27" w, 16" d, (from the estate of Tony Geiss, NYC).

Grueby ceramic art pottery vase, cucumber matt green glaze, six intersecting ribbed leaves with pointed tops, sharply defined raised edges, brown glazed interior, impressed circular stamp on bottom "Grueby Pottery, Boston, U.S.A.", carved initials "ERF", "6-28" and "Z" in green glaze, overall very good condition, 10 1/2" h, 9" dia (at shoulder).

19th c. oil on canvas, New England portrait of a young lady in a bonnet, finely detailed with white lace and decorated pink ribbons, lace collar, earrings and matching jeweled pin, blue eyes, early black and gilded frame with round brass hanger, some crackle to varnish, relined.

Labeled with orange paper on right side, serial #768149, original key and interior tray, initialed on right and left side "E.C.M." for Edward Caldwell Moore (1857-1943), American Theologian, studied in Germany 1884-1886, received PhD from Brown University in 1891, became Parkman Professor of Theology at Harvard University in 1901, trunk is in good condition, 12 1/2" h, 35 1/2" w, 20" d.

Oil on canvas harbor scene, with men in overalls securing a fishing boat at low tide, dock buildings, boats and gulls in the background, signed l.r. "Emile A. Gruppe", carved and molded wood frame in silver finish, 32" x 40" (sight), 36" x 44" (framed).

Collection of American Art Pottery from the Estate of Frederick Hagar, who was the grandson of Eugene R. Atwood, the co-founder of Atwood Grueby. Many of the pieces were presents to the Atwood family from the Grueby family.

Decorated Pennsylvania stoneware pitcher and butter crock attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, c. 1870-1885; stoneware jugs and crocks “E. & L.P. Norton”, Bennington, VT, and “Edmonds & Co.”; and Redware pottery.

Kirk & Son, Wallace, etc. Fine Victorian sterling silver tureen with crest, stamped under the lid “Stan, Marcus, New York”. Coin silver water pitcher signed “H. Haddock, Boston, Pure Silver Coin”, engraved in a repousse wreath of acorns and oak leaves, “Priscilla Wyer, 1852”.

18th c. Pennsylvania German decorated blanket chest, poplar and pine, finely decorated with original freehand sponged design in tan/brown, with three red hearts on the front and back side corners, blue and red pillars on front and sides, supported arbors in front in blue and red with small red leaves, with central pot of tulips in red and blue, trailing vine supporting large pinwheel flowers in blue, all on a carved and molded bracket base in original black paint, wooden pegged to the dovetailed case, molded top pegged and breadboarded, shows extensive in-use wear to lid decoration, interior with hand-forged iron strap hinges, interior till on left side, molded lid, signed in multiple places - under lid, on front of till and inside front facing board "___Bolich (etc)", probably Berks County, Pennsylvania, 1780-1810, lockplate possibly replaced, 25" h, 48" w (case), 21 1/2" d, 50 3/4" w (at the lid).

19th c. oil on canvas, seascape with waves against a rocky beach, double masted schooner sailing into a line storm with other sails, with light breaking through the clouds illuminating shore waves and rocks and brightening sky, possibly West Island, Fairhaven, MA, signed l.r. "C.H. Gifford 91", signed indistinctly in pencil on top of back stretcher, elaborately carved and gilded frame, minor surface scratches, overall very good condition, 13 1/4" x 18" (sight), 23 1/2" x 28 1/2" (framed).
