Exceptional Victorian sterling silver tureen, oval lid with ball finial, engraved with foliate designs, 5" tall handles with circular pebbled ends, raised circular shield crest on one side of bowl with a rampant lion and bull's head above, with ribbon surround "Be Just and Fear Not", the opposite side with a similar raised circular frame with a neoclassical head with winged helmet, stamped under lid "Stan, Marcus, New York" and "925/1000" within a shield, approximate weight 41.33 oz t, 13" h, 16" w (at handles).

Isaac Sprague's 19th c. work box, dome top, poplar and pine, with original red/brown painted finish, small ring pull on top, lock escutcheon is covered over with early leather, small hinged lid compartment inside lid, bent tin "L" shaped holders for pen or brush inside back, filled with two 19th c. "Eagle" brand paper boxes for "Artist leads", dated 1879; a leather covered eyeglass case, 3" l, with original steel framed eyeglasses with green tint and hinged side glass, marked "Peters, Phild"; a small tin rectangular jar with corked top; an oval-shaped brass tubular case, possibly used to hold pens, marked "JJK" on top; and a small round wood box with lid, marked "IS" on top and on bottom, and stamped "CH" on the bottom as well, copper tacks and wooden peg construction, 2 1/2" dia on bottom, inside with a yellow cake of chalk or watercolor substance; along with two French paper covered pencil cases, A.W. Faber, London, New York and Paris, (smaller box holds five original pencils); all "Acquired from Priscilla Sprague in 1969, and belonged to Isaac Sprague, and may have been carried with him on his Western Trip with J.J.A." (John James Audubon), John P. Richardson, Old Fort House, Hingham, Mass.; Note: a rare chance to acquire Isaac Sprague's paint box and a small pantry box initialed by Isaac Sprague and Cotton Hersey of Hingham; (JPR collection).

Pennsylvania German decorated blanket chest, poplar and pine, finely decorated with original freehand sponged design in tan/brown, with three red hearts on the front and back side corners, blue and red pillars on front and sides, supported arbors in front in blue and red with small red leaves, with central pot of tulips in red and blue, trailing vine supporting large pinwheel flowers in blue, all on a carved and molded bracket base in original black paint, wooden pegged to the dovetailed case, molded top pegged and breadboarded, shows extensive in-use wear to lid decoration, interior with hand-forged iron strap hinges, interior till on left side, molded lid, signed in multiple places - under lid, on front of till and inside front facing board "___Bolich (etc)", probably Berks County, Pennsylvania, 1780-1810, lockplate possibly replaced, 25" h, 48" w (case), 21 1/2" d, 50 3/4" w (at the lid).

"C.H. Gifford 91", signed indistinctly in pencil on top of back stretcher, elaborately carved and gilded frame, minor surface scratches, overall very good condition, 13 1/4" x 18" (sight), 23 1/2" x 28 1/2" (framed).
